If someone doesn't like Mario Kart, they can dislike it all they want. Blizzard fans hate mobile because they know mobile is more popular than PC and they're they're terrified of being left behind as those series become even more popular in a form they dislike. The fear of being displaced drives a great deal of obnoxious fanboy behavior. Hence the concerted efforts over the past seven years to smear Crysis 2. And the older fanbase resented them because they weren't "real" fans and they'd be damned if they were gonna allow their beloved Crysis 1 to be displaced. It's like the vocal elements of the PC Crysis 1 fanbase insisting that Crysis 2 was hated, ignoring that as far as the console Crysis fanbase is concerned, Crysis 2 was Crysis. I'm not really a fan but I'm not gonna pretend my dislike of 2013 is a view you'll hear from random people on the street. It's no different to Tomb Raider fans insisting that the 2013 reboot wasn't popular because it wasn't what they wanted. I'm sure the Sleeping Dogs fanbase are actually True Crime fans just pretending they like the game, too. Actively not playing Blood Money to ensure Absolution is like 10x more popular on Steam? Just part of the elaborate scheme to make it seem like Hitman has a huge fanbase that prefers Absolution to Blood Money. All the positive Steam reviews? All part of the ruse. Click to shrink. You really think that Absolution, the game that has enjoyed player peaks in the upper hundreds for six years has had an "attempt at rehabilitatation"? You think people just woke up recently and said, "Absolution may be the only Hitman I like, but I've just been PRETENDING to like it." Yea, the entire Absolution fanbase has been spite-playing the game in some weird attempt to ironically make the game seem popular.
